Concrete Corner

The stamped concrete on this job was a project in North Bend, Oregon 97459. The home owner is Melvin Lesher. He hired us to put this project into action. We worked with some of the best concrete finnishers in the area to get this done. When we started this job the first thing we had to do was get the retaining wall built. The block are cacky split face with colored mortar. Then we had to set the grades for the concrete and build the forms. We poured this project in four different pours. The concrete was colored ( natural honey ) and the red was sprayed on with a release for the concrete stamps. We poured up to 10 or 11 yards at a time. The field was stamped with a slate texture mat and the borders were stamps that we cut out of other stamps. Stamped concrete typically costs about $11.00 to $12.00 per square foot. The price can be higher depending on the complexity, how many colors are in your project and how many pours we have to do.




























The stamped concrete for John & Linda Lemos was poured in two pours. The concrete had no color added and we mixed the release for the stamps with black color. After the concrete was set up we sand blasted the color to lighten it up and applied a sealer.

  This was an interesting one!

Then we started the series of pours. In the picture below was the first pour of several. You can see the crew and the concrete pumping.

The design or shapes of this pour was created by John. He marked the ground where he wanted the concrete with spray paint. You can see that he kind of followed the natural boundry of his grass on part of it. Then he chose where he wanted the transition from concrete to grass to be, and shaped it.

Our first task was to set the elevations. Then we built the forms and filled the low areas with sand. While filling with sand we used a compactor to insure the stability of the ground that we would be pouring concrete over.

Next we poured the area under the patio. It was going to have a broom finish on it. Then we poured the first section that we were going to stamp, in the picture below.

When the concrete was ready, we mixed the black color with the release and sprayed it on the stamps and the concrete.
Finally we were ready to start stamping the concrete.

Now that this pour is done. We will have to finish preping the third and final pour.

On the last pour we placed a ramp between the two elevations that we were working with. The ramp was not stamped but broom finnished like the patio we poured under the deck. The broom finnish will provide a non slip texture so people will not fall on the ramp.

After we finished pouring, we stamped the concrete.

  On this pour we finished up about 9:00 PM. We were exausted. I stopped to take a few pictures before it got to dark.
  Below is a picture of Joe that I took of him finishing the concrete. Then I accidently pushed video on the camera and captured Joe making a comment. It is just a little clip. if you want to see it click the link below the picture.
